As an intimate wedding photographer based in Trinidad- I seldom actually get to shoot intimate weddings. By definition- the only really difference between an Intimate Wedding and a regular wedding is the guest list- Intimate Weddings are smaller.

But to me, it's not the amount of guests or the amount of money you spend on the wedding that makes it intimate, rather it's the closeness you feel when you look back at the images on the wedding day.

Being with a bride as she's zipping up her dress, putting on her grandmother's hand me down lace veil from the 50's. Seeing the groom shedding a tear when he sees his bride for the first time, or hearing the best man's speech that has the whole crowd in hysterics...

I am always invested in your day, often right there with you wiping away tears and laughing uncontrollably- usually while cracking corny jokes.

To share a couple's wedding day is a huge privilege and honor that I don't take lightly. While I am a photographer by profession, I am a human being by nature. I'm am very thankful to say a lot of my past and future clients are the warmest and most welcoming people, that truly feel like friends.

While the decor, and details of the day are always special and make photos aesthetically pleasing--- I firmly believe that weddings are about the two people who are getting married.

Sam did the pictures for my wedding in May 2018 and I was absolutely blown away by how amazing they came out. I didn’t have to ‘micromanage’ the photography aspect of the wedding because I knew Sam was super talented and would do an awesome job with the pictures. She was very professional and easy to work with throughout the whole process. Thanks again Sam for capturing my special day!

OH MY GOD these are so amazing. You were such a dream to work with, before and during the wedding and it was so nice having you there. It was like having a family member join us, you just meshed in. We’re on cloud 9 today. So happy!
— Natasha + Tom 2018

As a bride and full of nerves and emotions on the actual day, Sam was able to make me laugh and smile whenever my eyes filled up with tears. She was even able to get my husband, who isn’t a fan of being photographed, to smile through the pictures especially the portraits of us.
— Stasia + Niall-2016

Her work is tremendously unique, perhaps magazine style!
Little did we know that she was going to be so good at making us comfortable! Sometimes we forgot she was shooting us...she was perfect at bringing out our true emotions and keeping things natural.
As a wedding designer, I’ve never seen someone shoot my work so perfectly! She truly captured the class and elegance of the wedding. And not forgetting all the times that I got nervous or panicky, Sam was there to calm me down and keep a smile on my face!
If the whole package is what you’re looking for, Sam is the ticket! I would recommend her to anyone....Thank you so much Sam for capturing the best day of our lives and exceeding our expectations!
— Aminah + Rishard- 2017
From the first time my now husband and I met Sam, we knew she was the one to capture our special day....and oh she did perfectly! Sam is professional, calm, artistic, funny, humble, kind...I can go on. We couldn’t have chosen a better photographer for our wedding. All of our pictures are so amazing and we couldn’t be happier!
— Rahanna + Ed- 2016

Her aesthetic is unique and as a fellow creative, I was really drawn to her style. Sam is versatile, easy-going and makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera - she was just like having another friend at our wedding.
— Ashley + Logan- 2016

We could not be happier with our whole experience with Sam. Thank you so much for capturing our engagement and wedding memories so beautifully. We were impressed with Sam’s photos of our friends’ wedding and checked out her work on Facebook. She was very responsive in the planning stages and truly took into account our personalities. Throughout the whole process Sam made us feel comfortable. There was pouring rain on the day of our engagement session and Sam turned the disastrous weather conditions into a very fun experience and awesome photographs which we will cherish forever. She is professional yet feels like a friend, and everyone in our wedding party felt at ease with her and her second shooter. She also worked really well with our videographer. We absolutely love our wedding photos!
— Michele + Aaron 2017

Sam’s Photography captures so much more than just an image, she is an authenic storyteller. Her photography stands out stylistically to others and she has an artful eye for capturing perfect moments. Working with her is a breeze and will set you at ease because her passion, professionalism and ability to make anyone laugh will set your nerves aside. She continues to push and progress in her art form which shows time and time again in the quality of her work. You could not dream of finding a better photographer her work speaks for itself!
— Naaz Khan- 2018

Leading up to our wedding in 2016, Sam was very easy to talk with, whether it be by What’s app messenger or email. Her and the second shooter for our wedding were on time and again, very professional. We could not have been more pleased with the all the images, they did a fantastic job with capturing all our special moments. I really wanted our pictures to tell a story and that is exactly what i got. The turnover time was very quick and we absolutely adored her presentation of the images and photo album. Can’t thank this girl enough.. We would definitely recommend her to the world!

Q: I would like to select you as my photographer, what is the process to do so?

A: First off, we will be in touch via email discussing availability and wedding collections. I'm a sucker for love  stories, so if you feel comfortable, please share as much about yours!

If I am available on that date, a pre-wedding consultation will be set up for us to meet and further discuss details of the wedding day. I usually meet up for coffee or at home where we can chat over a glass of Pinot Noir.

At this meeting, we will go over the photography contract, discuss some more about your hopes and expectations of the wedding  Once all details are discussed, we will both sign a contract and a downpayment to secure your date will be made.

Q: How many people will be working with you?

A: Depending on the size of the wedding- I usually have one assistant who is a second shooter that's there by my side for the whole day. They will be with the groom before the ceremony, should you use additional groom preparation. I am always conscious of remaining unnoticed while still capturing your moments. If you choose to have an elopement or intimate wedding, it'll usually just be myself shooting the day.

Q: Do you travel for weddings?

A: Yes! I love to travel. Destination weddings have always been a favourite of mine. If you choose to have a destination wedding, there will be an additional fee for travel and accommodation for myself and the second shooter. I also have locations that will be discounted if they're on my travel list!

Q: How far should we book in advance?

A: The sooner the better! I don't usually take weddings that are over a year in advance but I will always keep you as priority if you contact me first.

Q: How many images do we receive, and will these have your watermark on them?

A: This all depends on the wedding day, how many hours the collection includes, how many guests are at the wedding. I usually give a minimum of 500 images. Every collection comes with un-watermarked High Resolution  images.

Q: Will you be able to provide assistance in picking portrait locations?

A: Yes! I am more than happy to provide some creative ideas for portrait locations. I enjoy collaborating with couples to find unique locations that have not been used before.

Q: How long after the wedding will we see the images?

A: During the first week after your wedding you will receive a password protected client gallery with a few teaser images. You will receive your images during a 1-3 month period depending on time of year.

You will be able to view your images for up to a year in the password protected gallery.

Q: Will you choose our final images?

A: Yes, I will select the images and professionally edit all images that you receive. If there are any images that you think I've forgotten it's probably for a good reason (technical issue/imperfections etc).

Q: Do you offer wedding albums?

A: Yes! A few of my collections include wedding albums. However, if the collection you've selected does not include an album, I'd be happy to create one for you at an additional cost.

Q: Will you post every photo of our wedding on your Facebook Page or your blog?

A: No, I will select a few key photos from the wedding day to be featured on my blog. If you do not wish to have any photographs published, there is a section in the wedding photography contract you can opt out of, this will be at an additional fee.

Q: My fiancé and I are not the most affectionate in public, how will you direct us?

A: I've found that the best moments are not staged, or posed. Cracking a joke in between poses is where the real magic happens. I love capturing raw moments between a couple. I try to be as discreet as possible, I've had some couples say they forgot I was even around. So don't worry about this aspect, your love will shine through!

Most of you know- I'm predominantly a wedding photographer. However my roots lay in family photography, more and more as the years go by and my own family tree is branching off into nephews and a niece I see the importance for family photos.

My family photo sessions tend to be very relaxed- I will come over to your house, or meet in a park where (if you have kids), they can run around and play and enjoy themselves all while capturing precious moments with mom and dad.

Maternity sessions are also a big part of life- as pregnancy is literally the beginning of a new life. I started off doing maternity sessions for friends and family members and quickly found that I loved capturing moments with mom and baby bump and it's always great when occasionally dad and siblings get thrown into the mix.

I carry a lot of my own love and care into these sessions and I absolutely love when I get to do a few lifestyle sessions in between the wedding chaos!

So before your big day, you wanna get some awesome pictures to have displayed at the wedding.... Look no further, the Save the Date session will help you get acclimatized to being in front of the camera.

Most wedding photography collections include a Save the Date session, however for those ones which don't, you can always book an additional session, or swap out a section of the collection you don't want/need!

These sessions are a great warm up for you and your fiancé, it's always better to have some experience posing, so on the wedding day you can feel comfortable and relaxed.

About a week before the shoot I'll email you a couple's questionnaire and if you feel comfortable, fill it out and share a little more about your love story with me. This makes the engagement shoot so much easier! I can get a feel if you guys are introverted, into super PDA, or if you'll take a little longer to get accustomed to having a tall blonde girl up in your bizness....

The sessions usually run from 60-90 minutes, just enough time to break the ice and unwind.

I can choose the location, or if you have any ideas in mind feel free to send them on over. I'm pretty much open to any locations, I try to be as adventurous as possible!
