2016: A year in review

So just like that, the year is ending! I can't believe it, this feels like one of the fastest years of my life.  I am extremely lucky and blessed that so many of you have believed in my work.  This year I've mainly focused on weddings, while still capturing very special, tender moments with families during my more intimate family sessions.. something I hope to continue into 2017!

Being a wedding photographer is a huge privilege to me and a task I don't take lightly. I feel so honoured every time someone chooses me to capture their special day. I am someone who gets quite emotionally invested in my clients and their special day also... So to say I've had an emotional year for weddings is putting it lightly! I've laughed with brides, cried along with grooms as they saw their wife for the first time, SOBBED at father of the bride speeches, and cried some more during first dances. I catch myself in these moments, and think "am I just being a total sap?!", but nooo..... these are the moments I live for in my line of work. It makes me so happy to see people in love and share in those happiest moments.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to all who stood by me this year and trusted me to capture your moments. I promise next year to continue in my growth as a photographer/ friend/ dress holder/ tissue giver / bow tie-tier / joke maker.

Cheers to 2016! Can't wait to see what 2017 has in store!

Big Love!

Kamille + Andrew Wed

These carnival junkies were such a great couple to work with! Kamille was such a stunning bride, and Andrew the most doting husband. They wed in a church ceremony and followed with a traditional Chinese Tea ceremony at the reception. The party kicked off with a coordinated dance and then a slamming fete with music from the Boom Boom Room! What a fabulous couple and night.

Rahanna + Eduard Wed

The first time I met up with this sweet couple, I knew their day was going to be special. Their shared love and faith was evident in the way they looked at each other and laughed at the same silly jokes.

It rained on and off for the whole day, pushing the ceremony to start a bit later than expected, but nothing would have stopped them from having the most perfect day. The ceremony was short and sweet, but not lacking in emotion and love.

Their first dance is one that will stand out in my mind forever I think, they held each other tight and danced to "The Book of Love", one of (my all time favourite songs) in a smokey haze of sparklers. So happy for these two!

Cathrine + Michael Wed

It's always fun capturing a wedding when you know the couple from way back when.. I've known Michael for many years and Cathrine and I were in the same college in my first year. They were such a fun couple to shoot, I remember at their Save the Date session thinking "your wedding day is gonna be so easy", they have a genuine love and ease with each other which made my job a piece of cake!

Ashley + Logan Wed

When the bride and groom get on stage and rock out to a King's Of Leon song... you know it's gonna be an amazing night!! Ashley and Logan are truly an example of a couple who just go together. This wedding was truly a dream to shoot, from the beautiful bridesmaid's dresses that were hand dip dyed by the girls themselves, the touching vows written by the couple, the cocoa inspired cake and how could I not mention Logan's awesome rock out session... I'm so happy to have been a part of this stunning wedding!

Wedding: Siddiqua & Nicolas

Siddiqua & Nicolas met years ago in France. A beautiful, young "Trini Girl" in France, attending University, a handsome young French man.. neither aware that they'd soon meet their match. Years later, they returned to Siddie's home country to get married.
They wed in Tobago, blending their two completely different cultures and binding their souls, becoming one. Was such a pleasure capturing their special day. Congratulations to you both!
